Dear BMBC readers,
It is my pleasure to address the Belgium – Macedonian Business Club’s Board, its members and all those who are interested in the work and the achievements of this Club.
I am confident that the establishment of the Belgium–Macedonian Business Club will provide an added value to the overall trade relations, increase trade exchange, stimulate new investments and enrich the cooperation and activities in the field of tourism. With such engagement, there will be an economic benefit for both sides, and furthermore, it will bring closer citizens of our two friendly countries, North Macedonia and Belgium.
With the BMBC formation, we would enrich the current legal framework and develop the capacities for trade cooperation between our countries. There are many economic institutions on both sides for development of our relations and stimulation of new investments. However, I truly believe that the formation of this Business club will identify the interests and aspirations as well as the difficulties which are important for the implementation of new projects. The companies as members of this Business club could channel their activities and needs since they carry out the activities.
The Republic of North Macedonia, an EU candidate country and a NATO member since March 2020, continues to be receptive and attractive for foreign investments and what is more important, there are already few established Belgium companies present there, companies that have positive investment experiences and good relations with the government officials. Without making any distinction among companies, I would like to point out one of the first and biggest Belgium investments in North Macedonia, Van Hool, bus production company, which has been successfully operating for years in Skopje. Van Hool was an initial capsule in attracting new Belgium companies in North Macedonia and all these companies are promoting our country as a good place for business and investment, a trend which I believe will continue in the future.
Belgium has been an important partner to my country in pursuing our European and Euro Atlantic integration and a country which has made great economic and technological accomplishments, something that we want to achieve. In that sense, we should be all motivated in our daily engagements. I strongly believe that Belgium members of this Club with their knowledge and enthusiasm will contribute in accomplishing our common goals, which is in the interest of our citizens, governments and their representatives. The support from our Government and institutions remains present in supporting our goals and successful implementation of the projects ahead.
I wish a successful work of the BMBC’s management and its members!
Respectfully yours,
Metodija Belevski
Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia in
The Kingdom of Belgium
