The investment figures for 2023 are out. Flanders welcomed 265 new investment projects, representing an impressive €4.92 billion and the creation of 4,596 jobs. This represents the third highest level of investment ever.

This success is due to the resilience of the ecosystem, high-quality workforce, innovative companies and our strategic location.

Despite the challenging international economic environment, foreign investment continues to hold up. This success is due to the resilience of the ecosystem, high-quality workforce, innovative companies and our strategic location. Foreign companies mainly invest in innovative solutions, energy transition, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and cleantech.

“Flanders remains a strong brand for foreign investors. The expected downturn by the US IRA and global economic context took place, but was largely offset by a lot of new investment, much of it from Europe,” said Joy Donné, CEO of Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT).
