« Come to study to Belgium » is a new program since about five years. Goal is to attract foreigners to study in Belgium. There is a high quality of education, but registration fees are much less than in other countries. Many study programs are in English. Macedonian students do already apply.
Cultural relations do exist: Belgian artists and writers visit North Macedonia, eg. for a seminary on writing. Macedonians participate in Belgian activities like the Jazz festival.
The number of flight relations recently increased, eg. to four weekly flights by Wizz Air to Charleroi. There are also convenient flight connections in the country around Belgium, eg. via Eindhoven and French or Germany airports.
Belgian has a tradition of good chocolate. Belgian chocolate is said to be one of the best of the world. Reason is the strong focus on quality. The producers look for the best cacao beans in the world and go directly to the farmers to select the best ones.
Belgium is also famous for its good beer, with several 100s of variations. In Belgium, there is a very long tradition of beer craftsmanship. The brewers taking advantages of the particularities of each region, and those particularities influence the taste. This is why the beer is so different between different towns.
