Once you found qualified candidates, you need to convince them to sign on with your company. What do successful companies offer? This is the content of the Hu-Ca-Thon, where HR experts discuss and exchange about methods and strategies.

Benefits can be monetary or non-monetary. The times have changed when paying a standard salary according to some general agreement was enough to find plenty of people. Today, there is a choice for potential employees.

The working group came up with a series of benefits. Complementary health insurance was the most common, as the standard insurance in North Macedonia does not really secure a quality medical service. Free drinks were also standard at all participating companies.

Depending on the industry, other offers exist to make companies attractive. This goes from team wear to fitness offers. The workgroup discussed their experiences, because just making an offer might be expensive, but not always efficient. “Cafeteria offers”, where employees can choose where the company should spend their money depending on individual needs were also discussed: young mothers may have other needs than older staff.

A second part was dealing with the structure of the salary, essentially the variable part of the compensation. If safety, productivity or compliance are in the focus, this might also be reflected in the monthly or annual variable compensation.
