Belgian National Holiday

A memory of the creation of a country with many compromises between different groups inside and its neighbors, and also the start of a development into a strong and sociallz responsible country.

BMBC used the occasion to organize a culinary-cultural-social boat tour on Ohrid lake to celebrate its first birthday.

We were happy to welcome EU head of delegation David Geer, DPM Arben Fetai and many members and friends on this occasion.

Philip Meersman and his team from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp presented their poetry and graphic representation.

Our chef Marc de Jongh created a Belgian-Macedonian Summer menu:

  • Pea soup with carp croutons
  • Melon goat-cheese starter
  • smoked trout roll
  • Latin-American fish/vegetable combo
  • Cheese wrap
  • Chia blueberry grape pudding

and six Macedonian wines that went with it. Because Belgium promotes and wants to export its culinary art as important element of its tradition in culture, innovative and attainable for all citizens at the same time.

The event was made possible thanks to our sponsors AIM North Macedonia, Rozal Fish, Galeb, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Ohrid and the wineries Kukutanov, Lazar, Kamnik and Sopot. This allowed to have the proceeds go to the Social Enterprise Hotel Dalian.

All in all, a very happy birthday party on lake Ohrid!
