Students from the Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp exchanged with BMBC and other Belgian Chambers of Commerce about international business, careers and else.

The students came from the Rechtspraktijk, Management, Business & Languages and Supply Chain Management faculties. We exchanged about North Macedonia, Nearshoring and Friendshoring, Careers in the business and the specific tasks of Chambers of Commerce in the fields of trade, foreign investment and tourism promotion.
Key take-aways:
- Start networking, latest in the university. Your colleagues and connections are a base for life.
- Engagement in international student associations create a good career base in addition to the studies.
- Use languages, also to learn and understand other cultures. English is lingua France to discuss but understanding needs more.
Big question was also about the possibility of traineeships. Hint to companies:
- offer and promote traineeships eg. via the website to get acquainted with your future workforce.
- Using foreign students and their country and language skill is a cheap way to prepare or enhance internationalization, eg. for market studies
Thank you to Ilse Cuypers and Carine Danau who chaired the two meeting sessions and to BLCCA, the Belgian International Chamber network, for this initiative to connect the country internationally.
