In a new process, bricks are made out of slag powder and CO2 is added to make them harden. The product and the production are CO2 negative. the bricks are available in 11 different colours, are aesthetic, stable, and comply with quality standards.
The Vandersanden production site in Dilsen-Stokkem, Limburg, produces 20 million facing bricks annually, consuming up to 2,280 tonnes of CO₂. In one year, the equivalent to the amount of CO₂ absorbed by 114,000 mature trees is bound.
