Five new routes will be introduced in April 2026 by Wizz Air: Naples and Budapest will be connected to Skopje; Katowice, Wroclaw and Milan to Ohrid. Wizz Air will have six Airbus 321 neos stationed at Skopje and the number of employees will grow from 200 to 300.
Wizz Air has taken deliveries of 47 A321 XLR aircrafts with Pratt & Whitney GRF engines, the first low cost operator of the type. The A321XLR is the next evolutionary step of the A320neo Family, responding to market needs for more range and payload, with a Xtra Long Range of up to 4 700 nm, 30 % lower fuel burn per seat compared with previous generation competitor aircraft, as well as reduced NOx emissions and noise. As with all Airbus aircraft, the A321XLR aircraft is already able to operate with up to 50 % Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Wizz Air has a fleet of over 230 A320 aircrafts with 295 left to be delivered. (See more info here)
Wizz Air has been handicapped by defects in the Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, leaving many planes on the ground. They exited the Abu Dhabi market earlier this year to focus on the European network. Wizz Air share price suffered from these troubles in the last year. The situation should improve around mid-2027. (See more info here).
Wizz Air started flying from Skopje to Barcelona, Lyon and Stuttgart in 2025, in addition to a flight from Ohrid with Basel-Mulhouse. According to FlightsFrom.com, recently FlyViking added Mersin, Diyarbakir, Ankara, Tselinograd and Zürich. The most popular route is Istanbul with 16 flights per week. The longest route is London.

The airport in Ohrid has 7 destinations with 8 airlines. Recently, Zürich has been added. The most popular connection is to Memmingen with three liaisons every week.
