On February 7th, 2026, Pairi Daiza will open Edenya, the world’s largest tropical greenhouse. It is home to around 230 animal species, 1 800 plant species, and 88 habitats, as well as an underwater restaurant.
Visitors can explore six connected tropical zones, including rainforest, rivers, beaches and cliffs. A 17-metre waterfall runs through the centre and links the different areas. Animals such as jaguars, manatees, giant otters, monkeys and Komodo dragons live there.
Edenya also features rare plants, including descendants of the original Buddha tree, an ancient sequoia, and the famous coco de mer from the Seychelles. The park says the tropical climate keeps temperatures pleasant all year. “It’s always good weather here,” staff say.
Pairi Daiza in total spreads over 75 hectares. 7 500 animals of 800 species, 10 000 trees and plants, two temples, four steam trains and 900 employees care since 1994 for the visitors. The former Cistercian Abbey is today one of the most visited tourist attraction of Belgium.
You can enjoy different meals, from African stews to a Chinese buffet. A replica of the original monastery brewery still creates the estate beer Cambron, to be enjoyed with Belgian specialties.
