On June 11, 2026, the OEMVP Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia celebrated its 20th anniversary. The event was a grand tribute to two decades of dedication to economic development, private sector support, and the power of collaboration. The evening reflected on OEMVP’s achievements, and BMBC as partner organization was a honored guest at the event.

A Night of Recognition and Reflection

The anniversary celebration was meticulously organized, drawing a large and engaged audience. The event began with warm welcomes from OEMVP’s leadership, including President Mr. Aliu and Executive Director Mr. Zekiri. BMBC was represented by newly elected board member Frosina Georgievska, who conveyed congratulations on behalf of the organization. Her gesture was warmly received, underscoring the strong and respectful relationship between OEMVP and BMBC.

The evening’s official proceedings were further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests. In-person greetings were delivered by North Macedonia’s Government Vice President Aleksandar Nikoloski, and the Speaker of Parliament Afrim Gashi.

A short documentary presented during the event traced the 20-year history of OEMVP. In 2004, the chamber was born to represent the interests of businesses in North-West Macedonia.

A central feature of the event was the presentation of framed recognitions to individuals and organizations that have contributed to OEMVP’s growth. Nearly 100 people were honored, including former leaders of the Chamber, members of its governing bodies, and representatives from media, companies, and government. The recognition extended to prominent Macedonian figures such as former Vice Prime Minister Zoran Stavreski and former President Gjorge Ivanov, as well as institutions like Telma TV, 24 Casa, Komercijalna Bank, and Stopanska Bank. This inclusive approach underscored OEMVP’s commitment to collaboration and partnership across communities.

The presentation of awards was momentarily paused for a cultural interlude: a beautiful performance of traditional music and songs by the State Ensemble, adding a touch of heritage and celebration to the evening.

To commemorate its 20th anniversary, OEMVP published a monograph documenting its journey, achievements, and impact. It serves as a valuable resource for understanding the organization’s evolution and its role in shaping the economic landscape of North-West Macedonia.

The collaboration between OEMVP and BMBC is a shining example of how bilateral chambers and local organizations can work together to create opportunities and drive economic progress. The two organizations have collaborated on initiatives like the HR project “Hu-Ca-thon,” demonstrating their ability to work together on innovative solutions. OEMVP has also shared insights from their USAID-funded energy project, highlighting their commitment to transparency and knowledge-sharing. The 20th-anniversary event was more than just a celebration; it was a demonstration of what can be achieved through collaboration, determination, and a shared vision for economic growth. For BMBC, the event reinforced the value of its partnership with OEMVP—a relationship built on trust, mutual support, and a commitment to fostering business opportunities in North-West Macedonia.
