Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu was born August 26th, 1910 in Skopje into a catholic Albanian-speaking family. She lived in Skopje till 1928.

She entered a nunnery, was sent to Calcutta and founded a new sisterhood, Missionaries of Charity.

“If you cannot feed a hundred people, just feed one“

In 1979, she got the Nobel peace prize for her “constructive efforts to do away with hunger and poverty”.

Mother Teresa did not call a stakeholder meeting. She did not establish a strategy. She just started helping the first person in front of her door.

The Memorial house is built where the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic church was located where she was baptized. The church was destroyed in the earthquake of 1963.
