North Macedonia’s Ministry of Justice has released proposed amendments to the Law on Personal Data Protection via the ENER platform, launching a public consultation that runs through mid-March.
The draft introduces a number of significant changes to the existing framework, most notably marking the first time artificial intelligence (AI) is explicitly addressed within the country’s data protection legislation – alongside revisions to the rules governing international data transfers and the obligations placed on data controllers.
More detailed information is available on the Ministry of Justice of North Macedonia website and the ENER platform.
