Non-EU foreign workers in Belgium face higher minimum salary requirements for 2026 work permits, single permits, and EU Blue Cards.
- Wallonia increased thresholds significantly (about 3%): highly qualified workers now need €53,220 annually (up from €51,613), EU Blue Card €68,815, and executives up to €88,790.
- Brussels kept monthly gross salaries unchanged: €3,703.44 for highly skilled staff and €6,647.20 for executives.
- Flanders continues using 2025 levels (i.e., €48,912 for highly skilled) until Statbel releases updated wage data, with an adjustment expected soon.
These regional changes, effective for new and renewed applications from January 2026, aim to match inflation and ensure competitive pay for international talent.
